Furthermore, the priests and institute members met with His Holiness on Saturday, December 16, 2023 (corresponding to 6 Kiahk 1740 A.M.) at 10:00 AM. His Holiness delivered a spiritual address that outlines the foundational principles for the first year of a priest’s ordination. This address serves as the cornerstone for the priest’s future ministry, both within his family and the Church.

The first year is a preparatory and foundational period during which the priest establishes the basis for his life and ministry for all his days of priesthood.

The guardian of the mind is the Holy Bible. Always keep the Bible open, for “As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God” (Psalm 42:1). The word BIBLE symbolizes Basic Information Before Leaving Earth. To be present with the Gospel is to know Heaven.

The key to hearts is love. Whoever knows LOVE understands LIFE (LIVE), and if the heart has no love, you will not understand life. Your service as a priest is according to the measure of love in your heart, and this is where the concept of fatherhood comes from.

Your enemy is the “self.” Therefore, Father Priest, do not perform the works of the world in order to bear fruit.

Constant renewal, as we pray every day: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).

The father priest’s care for his family, and involving them in the service with him.

The end of a matter is better than its beginning: For the father priest to set a good end, he must include it in his prayers: “Lord, grant me a good end and complete my days in peace.”

The meeting concluded with His Holiness answering the questions of the new priests and taking memorial photos.
