Conclusion of the basic training course activities for the dioceses of Assiut Governorate (October 24-28, 2022)

The activities of the third regional session presented by the Coptic Institute for Church Management and Development for the dioceses of Assiut Governorate concluded successfully from Monday, October 24 to Friday, October 28, 2022 (corresponding to 14-18 Baba 1739 A.M.) under the hospitality of His Grace Bishop Youannis, Bishop of Assiut, El-Badari and Sahel Selim, at the Monastery of the Virgin Mary in Dronka.

A total of 52 priests and service leaders from the dioceses of Assiut Governorate, numbering (7) seven pastoral dioceses, participated in the training, including: Dayrut and Sanbu – Al-Qawsiya and Mir – Deir Al-Mahraq and Rizqa Al-Deir – Manfalut and its dependencies – Abnub and Al-Fath – Assiut and Al-Badari and Sahel Selim – Abu Tig and Sadfa and Al-Ghanayem.

His Grace Anba Thomas, Bishop of El-Qusia and Meer, presided over the Divine Liturgy prayer on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Church of the Cave (El-Maghara). He was joined in presiding over the prayer by their esteemed Eminences the Bishops: His Grace Anba Youannes, His Grace Anba Bigoul (Bishop of the Monastery of El-Muharraq and the Monastery’s sustenance), His Grace Anba Theophilus (Bishop of Manfalut and its dependencies), and His Grace Anba Besenty (Bishop of Abnoub and El-Fath).

Furthermore, His Grace Anba Thomas delivered the inaugural lecture on “Development in Service.” The training events were covered by COC TV channel.

His Grace Bishop Youannis also inspected the training more than once and chaired the closing session on Friday evening, October 28, 2022.

It is worth noting that this is the third regional course offered by the Institute this year at the invitation of the venerable bishops, following the eighth seminar of the Holy Synod in November 2021. Two training courses were conducted at the Monastery of Saint Mina Babiar in Tanta in April and September 2022, under the patronage of His Grace Bishop Paula, Bishop of Tanta and its dependencies. They were delivered to the dioceses of Mit Ghamr, El Mahalla, Banha, and Tanta.

The Institute is also preparing to present the fourth regional course, by the grace of our Lord, in the dioceses of southern Upper Egypt, in the Diocese of Naqada and Qus, from November 23 to 26, hosted by His Grace Bishop Pimen, Bishop of Naqada and Qus.
