The conclusion of the basic training course with bishop candidates and service managers in some monasteries.
The intensive basic training course on “Church Management and Development” concluded, which ran from February 17 to 21, 2021, at the Logos Center – Anba Bishoy Monastery in Wadi El Natrun. The course was attended by 16 monks, including 7 candidates for the episcopate, and a number of administrators from five monasteries (Our Lady of the Syrians, Anba Bishoy, Baramous, Abu Macarius, and Mar Mina). The course included three daily training sessions.
The training course was inaugurated by His Beatitude and Holiness Anba Tawadros II. During the opening session, he expressed his “vision for church service” and noted that this course represents a first-of-its-kind experiment for training monk-priests, with similar courses to follow, God willing. In a gracious gesture, His Holiness also participated in the closing session, attending to listen to the participants’ feedback on the benefits they gained, all of which reflected very positive reactions.
Their Eminences, the venerable bishops, namely: His Grace Bishop Daniel, Bishop of Maadi and Secretary of the Holy Synod, His Grace Bishop Youannis, Bishop of Assiut, and His Grace Bishop Julius, Bishop of the Churches of Old Cairo and Bishopric of Services, also gave lectures on various aspects of “He who manages with diligence.”
