Launch of the first training course for the development team in the Diocese of Beba, El-Fashn and Samsta, as part of the Development Partners Initiative.
On Thursday, June 3, 2021 AD, corresponding to Bashans 26, 1737 of the Martyrs, the activities of the first training course for the development team in the Diocese of Beba, Al-Fashn and Samsta were launched.
Under the patronage of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, and with the honor and participation of His Grace the esteemed Bishop Estephanos (Bishop of Pba, Al-Fashn, and Samasta) and His Grace the esteemed Bishop Youlios (General Bishop of the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical and Social Services (BLESS) and the region of Old Cairo churches), the General Committee of Partners for Development in the Coptic Church organized the first training course for the development team in the Diocese of Pba, Al-Fashn, and Samasta. The course was held at the St. Mark’s Center in Nasr City. The day also witnessed the signing of the cooperation and partnership agreement between the Committee and the Diocese. The initiative aims to coordinate development efforts within the Diocese to achieve integration among all partners.

The attendance included representatives from the partner organizations involved in the initiative, namely: the Bishopric of Public, Social, and Ecumenical Services (BLESS); the Secretariat of Social Care at the Papal Headquarters; the Papal Office for Projects; the Anba Abram Service at St. Mark’s Church in New Cairo; the Al-Ra’i wa Om Al-Nour Service; the Anba Abram Service in Canada; the Anba Abram Service for the Unremembered; the Coptic Orphans organization; and the Coptic Institute for Church Administration and Development (COPTICAD).
The training is being led by the Coptic Institute for Church Management and Development, headed by Dr. Magdy Latif, Dean of the Institute, and is targeting 27 priests and servants working in the Diocesan Development Office, which was established to coordinate all development efforts in the Diocese, under the supervision of His Grace Bishop Stephanos.
His Grace Bishop Julius, representative of the Development Partners Committee, delivered the opening speech for the first training session, explaining the importance of the initiative and the vision of the Development Partners. His Grace Bishop Stephanos also delivered a speech entitled “I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.”
