The Coptic Institute for Church Management and Development participates in the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Alexandria Seminary.
On Saturday evening, February 26, 2022, the Alexandria Seminary celebrated the 50th anniversary of the college’s founding. The celebration was graced by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, a number of venerable bishops, priests, college professors, and graduates from various batches at the Papal Headquarters Theater in Alexandria.

The Dean of the Coptic Institute for Church Management and Development, Prof. Dr. Magdy Latif Al-Sindi, and a number of faculty and training staff members at the Institute attended the celebration at the kind invitation of His Eminence the Pious Father / Ibrahim Emil, Deputy of the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate in Alexandria, to participate in the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Clerical College in Alexandria.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II delivered a speech expressing his profound appreciation for the role the Theological Seminary has undertaken since its establishment. He also shared his future vision and aspirations with the attendees, which include: constructing a large, independent, high-standard building for the seminary outside St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria; increasing the number of graduates obtaining postgraduate degrees (Master’s and Doctorate); expanding the number of external educational missions for the seminary’s students and graduates; introducing a specialized post-seminary study year focusing on areas such as climate, health, life skills, or ecumenical studies; and another aspiration to “establish an internal residential department within the Theological Seminary.”
In the context of his speech, His Holiness spoke about the role of the Coptic Institute for Church Administration and Development, which began its work in 2015. He mentioned that despite its recent establishment, it has provided hundreds of training sessions, from which some of the attending priests have benefited.
His Holiness added that he dreams of establishing a dedicated, large-scale branch of the Institute in Alexandria, as the Institute has demonstrated a great capacity for changing the vision of service, “because service must be complete, comprehensive, effective, impactful, and productive. I want every priest to be understanding of modern sciences and to be a complete, shepherding servant.”
